Outlook: the fall agenda for energy policy

EU legislation is dominated by energy issues because of the war in Ukraine. It starts next week with the vote in the European Parliament on two directives: the Renewable Energy Directive (RED) and the Energy Efficiency Directive (EED). In October, the financing of the RePowerEU plan will be on the agenda. Several trilogues are underway.

When the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, delivers her State of the European Union address on Wednesday in the Strasbourg Parliament – in the heart of Alsace, the stronghold of tarte flambée – she will give an overview of the projects her Commission intends to tackle in the coming year.
