Ukraine: Putin sends FSB man to Riyadh, Europeans meet in Paris.

Further talks are to begin today, Monday, in Riyadh in the US' attempts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine. For the first time, representatives of both parties to the conflict are to be present. Moscow is dispensing with top diplomats, but is sending a special FSB representative.

Meeting in Tokyo: focus on trade and tensions.

Top diplomats from China, Japan and South Korea met in Tokyo on Saturday to find joint solutions to security and economic issues in the face of global uncertainties. Despite tensions on key issues such as North Korea and Taiwan, the three countries agreed to accelerate a trilateral summit and intensify cooperation, particularly regarding demographic challenges and free trade.

US sanctions against Iran: First Chinese refinery affected.

The US has imposed new sanctions against Iran, targeting a Chinese "tea pot" refinery for the first time. These independent refineries play a key role in importing Iranian oil, which Washington criticizes as a source of funding for Tehran.

Huawei: MEPs want to ban devices from institutions.

Following the bribery allegations against Huawei, 25 MEPs have turned to Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Commission President von der Leyen. They are calling for the technology to be banned from the institutions and for transparency.
